Sales Engineer

Chase Machine & Engineering, Inc., a premier design and manufacturing company for custom equipment in the nonwovens, filtration, medical, geotextile, converting and packaging industries, has an immediate opening for a Sales Engineer. We are looking for an experienced mechanical engineer who has quoting and sales experience with a strong background in continuous web processing machinery and processes. This is an ideal opportunity if you enjoy customer contact using your engineering, quoting and sales skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES. Answer sales inquiries received by phone, email, web and trade show leads. Sales efforts will incorporate the entire sales cycle including lead generation, qualifying leads, phone follow-up, quoting, visiting customer sites and closing orders. Give priority to quotation efforts, maximize conversion rate, follow-up on quotations as agreed, and submit correct and timely quotations. The ability to analyze and quote to meet technical specifications, project drawings, and customer needs is critical. 

Interpret specifications, drawings and customer requests to ensure quotation meets customer requirements. Document all special customer requests and/or exceptions to specifications. Research and obtain costs on specified components not listed in the company's database. Check on specific certification requirements, quality plans, etc. pertaining to jobs quoted. Accurate tracking and follow-up of quotes, hand-off and collaborate with project engineer, participate in project review, offer service after the sale.

ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS. Candidates must be assertive and motivated by the challenge of combining technical knowledge with quoting and sales closing skills. Ensure that all departmental operating procedures are adhered to.  Good communication and interpersonal skills are required to work with customers and employees.  Positive attitude a must and project management experience helpful.  Qualified candidates will report to Guy Gil, National Sales Manager. 

Full-time position, benefits package, base salary plus commissions, travel required. Salary commensurate with experience.
